Our Story
Welcome friends, we are so glad you found us! Meet the owners & read a little on how we started B&B! Our names are Brittani Black and Cortney Hanks, we are the owners of Black & Blush! Black & Blush Boutique started in January of 2019 after we both decided we wanted something more than the healthcare careers that we both were currently in at that time. Brittani was a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant and Cortney was a Surgical Technologist. We both had reached a point where we knew our hearts were not in the healthcare field anymore. We both were shoppers, had an eye for fashion, and just a love for interaction with people and our community. The inital plan was to be a small online boutique because Cortney's husband was deploying to Afghanistan that year and we needed something to help to make our schedules flexible. So, we started our shop in Cortney's basement unboxing, tagging, shipping, rocking live sales, and more! We even had some great Pop Up Shops out of her home in Chambersburg, Pa that really helped us see the need for a boutique in our community. Within a year, the plan came for a storefront location in Downtown Chambersburg, PA.
We opened the doors of our storefront location in January of 2020, which quickly came to a stand still with the Covid Pandemic shut down just 45 days after our grand opening. To say it was a rough start is an understatement, but our community rallied around us and helped keep Black & Blush growing this entire time. God surely had a hand in this! Once we reopened our doors, we were amazed at how much we had grown! In 2022 we reached the decision that we had outgrown our 1300 sq ft space and needed to expand. In 2025, God led our hearts to move locations to a shopping center-when we say God moves, He really MOVED on this one. Within a week we were preparing a new location for where we are located currently at 454 Gateway Avenue, Chambersburg, PA.
We aim to help women of all beautiful shapes, sizes, and ages find amazing pieces that help build confidence and style. We want everyone that walks in our storefront or that shops online to feel like friends and family. We want to know you, your family, and we want you to know us. We have truly been blessed to have met so many amazing people through this business!
When we are not working, our time is spent with our families. Brittani is married to Ryan, who is a DC Firefighter and has a son named Grant (4 years old). Cortney is married to Brian, who is a Pilot in the Army, She has 2 sons, Max (10)and Raleigh(8).
